Online Safety Residential Leads (level 1)
The risks associated with an ever expanding online world are significant, but how do we ensure that children and young people can embrace new technology whilst remaining safe? Aimed at anyone working with children and young people in residential settings and wanting to expand their knowledge of current issues in online safety, this course considers where the risks lie and how to work with children and young people to keep safe online.
The Course
This online safety training session provided by SWGfL is designed for professionals working with young people in residential settings, to familiarise themselves with the current online safety landscape, covering technologies and the behaviours that develop around them. We will provide an overview of current trends, threats and issues as well as outlining statutory obligations and signposting useful resources and support.
SWGfL are a charitable trust dedicated to empowering the safe and secure use of technology through innovative services, tools, content, and policy, nationally and globally. SWGfL are proud to be a world leader in online child safety, a founding member of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety as well as an advisor to Governments and a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre. Their vision: Everyone should benefit from technology, free from harm.
